SimplePractice Learning is proud to offer continuing education courses for California marriage and family therapists. We are an approved CE provider through the CAMFT CEPA program, so our MFT CE courses count toward California BBS requirements.
California MFT CE Requirements
All licensees are required to complete 36 hours of CE credits every two year license renewal period. There is no limit on the amount of CE that can be completed via self-study.
6 hours of law and ethics CE must be completed for each renewal. 7 hours of HIV/AIDS CE must be completed prior to the first license renewal. 6 hours of suicide risk assessment and intervention CE must be completed prior to licensure for new licensees, and prior to renewal for existing licensees (one-time requirement). Supervisors of AMFTs must complete a 6 hour supervision training before becoming a supervisor and in each renewal period while a supervisor.
California MFT Approval
SimplePractice is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LPCCs, LCSWs, and LEPs (CAMFT CEPA provider #145276). SimplePractice maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
