Course description
Gifted clients present therapists with unique challenges and opportunities. While often articulate and intelligent -- traits that therapists tend to like -- they are also often very skilled at masking or minimizing their suffering. Their gifted traits may initially lead therapists to believe that these clients are functioning more effectively than they actually are. Using data from the Gifted Identity Project, this course helps clinicians better understand clinical presentation in clients with gifted traits. Participants will learn to recognize and reframe the role of these traits in the therapy process. Therapists can connect with gifted clients effectively, and modify interventions in ways that best suit the needs of this unique group.
