For what professions and states is SimplePractice approved to offer CE Credit?
Our complete approval information is available in the link below.
-
How many hours can I earn online?
Some boards allow you to gain all of your CE online, while other boards have strict limits. For current information on your license, check with your applicable licensing board.
-
Can courses I take through SimplePractice satisfy my law and ethics course requirement?
We have multiple courses that specifically address legal and ethical issues. These courses can typically be counted toward state requirements for Law and Ethics CE. Note that states have varying requirements for the number of Law and Ethics CE hours you may need to obtain, and the time in which you need to obtain those hours (one time, annually, at license renewal, etc.).
-
Are you approved by the California BBS (Board of Behavioral Sciences)?
Yes. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences no longer directly approves CE providers; instead, they recognize providers who are approved through a number of specific organizations. We are approved through organizations recognized by the BBS (you can see complete information on our Approval Statements page, linked above). As such, our courses are accepted for California LMFTs, LPCCs, LCSWs, and LEPs.
-
Do you report to CE Broker?
No. If your state board uses CE Broker to track continuing education, you will need to upload CE certificates manually. State rules and processes for the use of CE Broker differ by board.
-
What do I do if I have more than one license?
Many of our customers are dually licensed. Our CE platform asks you for information on a single license when you first sign in to take a course, and this license information is recorded on your CE certificate. However, generally speaking, the same CE courses can be used to fulfill requirements for multiple licenses, so long as our approval applies to both boards.
You can list multiple credentials in your account, and have them appear properly on your CE certificates, by adding them on to the end of the "License number" field in your account as in the following example:
License state: TX
License type: LPC
License number: 12345 and CO LPCC 67890 -
Where can I find SimplePractice's provider numbers?
Our provider numbers can be found in our approval statements (linked above)
-
There is a mistake on my certificate. What do I do?
If the mistake is in the spelling of your name, you can select the "Request name change" link when accessing your certificate. For any other mistakes, please contact us by clicking the blue "? Help" button.
-
How can I access my certificate? How long is it available for?
Your CE certificate is available for immediate download upon completion of a course. (Completion typically requires viewing all course components, passing a completion quiz, and completing a satisfaction survey.) We retain course completion records for at least 5 years. At any time during that timeframe, you can log back into your account on our learning platform and re-download certificates for any courses you previously completed.
You can view your certificates on the “Certificates” section of “My Account” after clicking your name in the top right corner of the page while logged in to your account.
