Course Description

This workshop focuses on bringing high ethical standards to the work of clinical supervision. We will review ethical standards pertaining to supervision, including remote supervision guidelines, which have added a layer of complexity. Diversity and multicultural issues will be examined through the lens of a supervisory genogram. We will also explore supervisory boundaries in detail. This will be an opportunity to contemplate your own supervisory competence in an experiential manner.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least two areas of growth needed to expand their supervisory competence

  • Construct a supervisory genogram integrating at least two elements of diversity for each supervisor listed

  • List at least two ethical standards that apply to the specific context of the supervisory relationship

  • Describe at least two issues of supervisory boundaries pertaining to technology

Dayna Guido, MSW, LCSW is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in supervision. She is the author of Creative Ways to Learn Ethics: An Experiential Training Manual for Helping Professionals and has served as an ethics consultant for her state professional association.

To obtain your CE certificate, you must progress through all course segments, complete a satisfaction survey, and obtain a score of 80% or higher on a course completion quiz. Learners are expected to complete the quiz within a reasonable number of attempts, and may be blocked from completing the course and receiving their certificate if unable to do so.
