Course description

This course guides participants on an exploration of psychology’s development into social justice. By examining the seven social justice mindsets, with liberation as the highest goal, participants will learn how to incorporate social justice work into the therapy room. Case anecdotes are shared throughout the presentation to demonstrate the application and spirit of this orientation.

1.5 hours CE. Recorded video (non-interactive) format. Case examples include fictionalized elements.

Learning objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the 7 social justice mindsets

  • Identify at least three impacts of the participant’s current social justice mindset on their clinical care

  • Differentiate between equality and equity

  • Apply at least three components of liberation psychology into their practice

Meag-gan O'Reilly is a California-licensed Psychologist and Program Coordinator for Outreach, Equity and Inclusion at the Stanford University Counseling and Psychological Services Vaden Health Center. She is a frequent speaker and consultant on DEI issues, having given a popular TED talk on inherent value, and is the CEO and Founder of Inherent Value Psychology, Inc.
