Course description

“My therapist was great at helping me with my depression and anxiety. But she referred me out when it came to working with my ADHD.”

Designed to address an all-too-familiar refrain, this course provides a CBT model to use as a framework to guide treatment. While the material is intended to provide new information and skills, it also demonstrates how to apply existing and well-honed clinical skills in ways that are helpful to individuals who struggle with this lifelong issue.

Learning objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Outline how both neurological and psychological factors contribute to the impairment observed in Adult ADHD

  • Describe executive functions and their likely deficits in adults with ADHD

  • Summarize four behavioral skills that help clients with ADHD compensate for executive function deficits

  • Apply at least three commonly-used clinical skills used in the treatment of depression or anxiety to the treatment of Adult ADHD

Janet Niederman, PhD is a Los Angeles psychologist in private practice. She’s worked with clients with a variety of issues for thirty-five years and has also provided clinical supervision to doctoral-level psychology interns. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and adult ADHD.

Recorded video format (non-interactive). Total running time 90 minutes. Progress is saved after each lesson section so you can complete the course in multiple sittings.
